Jim Evans TAZ Posters T.A.Z. painter graphic artist (2020)

Jim Evans is a California-based artist who created some of the iconic concert posters of the 1990's, including a few early Lollapalooza dates and notably the first Big Mele concert (1993). My interest in his work began with the Fugazi concert poster featuring a pot and lid for their 1994 shows in Honolulu. I didn't realize how rare print posters were until I got older - isn't that most times the case! Jim Evans aka T.A.Z. came over to Hawaii to work and surf with his young family and continued to grow his artistic references with his interest in Japanese manga, touring rock bands, surfing, and life as it unfolded in the 1960's through 1970's. Skateboarding culture broke through in the 1980;s and with it, he found a different audience and they him. This entire talk story weaves his work with other life elements. Pu'unui musician producer engineer radio broadcaster (2022) Hawaii POV

(November 22, 2022) Pu'unui is an easy going and solid human being. He loves his family and friends, and does as he can to assist those who request him and offer up his skill set. He's a studio x touring musician, a band director, a manager, and also works as a radio broadcaster in Honolulu, Hawaii (currently on Pacific Media Group Oahu's HI93 and 94.7 KUMU). This edit is about Radio, Music, Hawaii in Honolulu as a lifestyle in 2022. I began "Hawaii POV - A Talk Story Series" as a way to learn how to use one of my video cameras then later video editing. There are people that I've known through work, good friends, or acquaintances that others connected me with that agreed to meet and record. For all those times, I'm ever grateful. I like to repeat myself about this: I have had the good fortune to talk story with people and when they agree to sit and video or audio record With Me, it's massive to me. And to YOU reading this, thank you! Thanks for understanding that these Hawaii POV's are a conversation To Be Continued In Real Life. We get a thumbnail sketch, to start - names, places, and times are as we remember in the moment. Lucky we have a minute to catch up, jot it down, and hopefully meet up again. *this recording took place on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at the Pacific Media Group Oahu offices. We sat for a just under three hours and still had lots to talk about. The first hour's video dealt with a unintentional zoom-in issue, which we talk about right at the start. This is from the second set of video and audio recordings. \m/ I hope you enjoy this chat and to connect: Pu'unui http://instagram.com/puunui Kathy With a K http://instagram.com/kathywithak

Gavin Hammon aka Kenny The Walking Dead game Dance Hall Crashers drummer (2020)

Thanks to Gavin Hammon for sharing an hour with me and those who joined in via IG Live (May 7, 2020). He was at home in his California recording studio and I was at my radio station's Production Studio in Iwieli, Hawai'i. These seasons, Gavin is loving his family life in Northern California! He's steadily working as a Voice Over Talent/Artist (for some, it's his work as "Kenny" in "The Walking Dead" video game that won their hearts!); drummer with 1990's-2010's Bay Area ska/punk band Dance Hall Crashers; gardener... Find him: GavinHammon.org Instagram.com/gavinhammon Find me: about.me/KathyWithaK Instagram.com/kathywithak Be healthy, enjoy and thanks for visiting... *This was an edit from our IG Live #wip #workinprogress I tend to tidy the original video as the WiFi, audio drop outs and video pixeling can be distracting. Also, I like the process (the rendering is a bit...I know! next step is upgrading my desktop to allow for faster editing #MakeItSo) Since late March 2020, Hawaii has quieted down with Stay-at-Home, Work-from-Home orders (part of one of the supplemental proclamations from the Office of Governor David Ige). I still go into my radio office and we've been practicing physical distancing of six feet or more. In my case, it's an average of ten feet with a fabric face mask!...so, I've been chatting up more often on IG Live, trying FB Live, etc. Some of the talks I've been able to copy, others are lost to the internet. Thanks for reading this far!
